CELEBRATING
THE 50TH EDITION
In 1978, the very first Australian
Mathematics Competition (AMC)
took place. Over 60,000 secondary
school students in Years 7 – 12 from
across Australia and New Zealand
took part.
In 2027, the 50th edition of the AMC
will take place. To celebrate, we are
offering a new division: Early Primary
for Years 1 and 2.
Our teams of problem writers –
Australian mathematicians, academics
and teachers – have been crafting the
problems. We are excited to invite you
and your students to be involved!
FREE AMC 2026 EARLY
PRIMARY PILOT
From 12 – 23 October, we are offering
a FREE pilot of the AMC Early Primary
paper for Years 1 and 2.
This is online only and is available to
schools in Australia and New Zealand.
